Part of Credit Week 2018, the Credit Summit, featured a number of conferences and discussions covering the length and breadth of the consumer, commercial and trade credit industry.

A news and current affairs-style programme created by The Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM) and ITN Productions revealed the critical importance of best-practice credit management across the industry. ‘Credit Champions’, which was premiered at Credit Week 2018, showcases the principles of the credit management lifecycle and how the industry is promoting best practice in this area. We are delighted to have contributed to this production.

There are 5.7 million small businesses in operation across the UK and the management of credit has played a significant part on them and their supply chains. ‘Credit Champions’ brings to life why relationship-building between creditors and debtors is so important by illustrating examples of best practice and highlighting solutions to underlying problems. The programme also looks into how poor credit management controls can have a detrimental impact on not only the business, but the mental health of those involved in the supply chain.

Philip King, CEO at CICM highlighted:

“We welcomed the engagement of the Lending Standards Board in this genuinely important and ground-breaking programme that looks to project credit management – and the work of the wider credit industry – into the minds of business owners, leaders and politicians throughout the UK. The Lending Standards Board is an essential part of the credit community, and plays a key role in driving best-practice and achieving high standards of excellence for customers.”
