Saima Hansraj - Compliance Manager

Saima joined the LSB in 2014 as Compliance Manager. Her main responsibilities are to deliver against the LSB’s oversight model, supporting firms in the implementation of the new Standards of Lending Practice and to achieve fair customer outcomes on an ongoing basis. This also involves identifying areas where the Standards of Lending Practice and guidance can be developed to address emerging and systemic risks and deliver good practice. One such area Saima has been leading on is consumer vulnerability which has resulted in the inclusion of a new set of Standards on vulnerability along with supporting guidance.

Prior to joining the LSB, Saima worked in a compliance oversight role for Nationwide Building Society, with responsibility for monitoring against all elements of conduct risk, including consumer credit. This involved overseeing the society’s programme of transition from the Office of Fair Trading to the Financial Conduct Authority. Saima also has a degree in Law and has successfully completed the International Compliance Association’s Diploma in Compliance.
