THE BANKING CODE STANDARDS BOARD

The Banking Code Standards Board (BCSB), was formed in 1999 to monitor and enforce the Banking and Business Banking Codes.

On 1st November 2009, responsibility for the conduct of business regulation for deposit and payment products was transferred to the Financial Services Authority.

In the light of this change the BCSB has now changed its name to become the Lending Standards Board (LSB). The role of the LSB is to monitor and enforce compliance with the new Lending Code that became effective on 1st of November.
